From the Middle English meaning slow. As it RE-tard-Ed.
It's a funny sounding word, but too many and you could make a serious mark on your *Permanent Record*.
All you high schoolers out there, I'm going to let you in on a little secret - there is no such thing as a permanent record. What you go away with in high school will not affect your ability to land a position with that swanky law office - on the other hand, your lack of education, breeding and refined sophistication *will* do the job on your behalf.
